Claire Elise Boucher (bu:'SeI/booSHAY) was born on March 17, 1988. She's known as Grimes. The early work of her can be called "lo-fi R&B to futuristic dance-pop",[4] with influences from hip-hop and electronic music, as well as rock. She frequently incorporates science fiction as well as feminist themes in her songs. She's recorded five albums. Grimes was raised in Vancouver and later moved to Montreal. She started her solo career in the late in the 2000s. In 2010, she dropped two albums with Arbutus Records, Geidi Primes (and Halfaxa), respectively. Later, she joined 4AD and became a household name with the release of her third studio album, Visions that was released in 2012. Visions contains the singles "Genesis," and "Oblivion" and was considered for"the" Juno Award of the Canadian Music Industry for Electronic Album of the Years. In the years following, the fourth album of her studio, Art Angels, was released in the year 2015 and garnered reviews of praise, as several magazines declared it to be the top album of 2015. In 2020, she released Miss Anthropocene (her fifth studio album). Outside of music, Grimes had a voice performance in the online action-role-playing video game Cyberpunk 2077 and is a judge on the popular music competition game series Alter Ego.
