Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina (or Antonia) Shevchenko is a Kyrgyzstani Muay Thailand fighter in the UFC's flyweight division. She is the younger sister of her fellow UFC fighter and former UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko began her career as a Muay Thai kickboxer. She debuted in 2003 at the IFMA World Championship Tournament. Shevchenko was the winner of the tournament and defeated Suzane Milliner with a unanimous verdict. Antonina kept her winning streak going by getting bronze and silver medal in 2008 and 2007 respectively, a Gold medal in 2011, as well as the 2015 IFMA amateur world champion. Antonia has started her professional career at the age of three, was awarded in 2012 and 2016 the World Lion Fight Lightweight Champion. In 2016, the WMC World Championships were held in 2016, and she won the 2016 IFMA Amateur Muay Thailand World Champion. Antonina's most recent fight took place against Isa Tidblad-Keskikangas in the Phoenix Fighting Championship. She was victorious by unanimity. Antonina Schevchenko started the professional phase of her MMA professional career back in the year 2002 after the victory over Anara Baanova in the KFK Championships of Kyrgystan. She won via TKO in the second round and went on to win her two fights following, both at WXF X-Impact World Championships of 2003. This gave her an MMA record of 3-0. Shevchenko took a break from MMA to focus on the sport of kickboxing. She made her comeback to fight Anissa haddaoui, at Phoenix FC 3, 2017. Shevchenko beat Anissa by a unanimous vote and then defeated Valerie Domergue at Phoenix FC 4. After leaving the league in 2018, Shevchenko was a part of Dana White's Contender Series. Shevchenko battled Jaimelene Nievera on Dana White Tuesday Night Contender Series 11. Antonina used her superior fighting techniques in order to TKO Nievera in the clinch via knees to the body. Antonina was offered a UFC deal following her win. Antonina was able to make her UFC debut in the TUF Heavy Hhitters Finale in a fight against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko took victory in a unanimous decision, but she was defeated in her next fight by Roxanne Modafferi via the split decision. Antonina returned to the ring after losing and defeated Lucie Puddilova in UFC on ESPN Covington-Lawler by rear-naked submission during the second round. This fight earned Antonina the Fight of the Night bonus. Shevchenko went 1-2 during her subsequent three bouts, defeating Ariane Lipski, and then losing to Katlyn Chookagian and Andrea Lee. Antonina has recently been lost to Casey O'Neill in UFC Fight Night Santos Walker.
